is the Managing Member of J. Bouma & Associates, LLC, in Pittsburgh, PA, for the past 7years. In this capacity, she works with spouses and their attorneys in the litigation process, is a family mediator and is trained as a Financial Specialist in the collaborative process of divorce. JBA offers full-service divorce financial planning--providing financial illustrations and projections for Equitable Distribution, QDRO preparation, Present Value Pension Calculations, Budget Preparation, and Expert Court Testimony, in these areas of expertise. In addition, Janet's trusted associates include Forensic Accountants, CPAs, Business Valuators, Real Estate Appraisers and Agents and Mortgage Brokers. For ten years, Janet previously served as a Reional Director for the IDFA. Janet has presented numerous seminars --Preparation for Divorce, Avoiding Ecomic Disaster for the Community College of Allegeny County, and teaches continuing education classes to attorneys and CPAs. She publishes informative divorce articles in the North Hills Monthly Magazine, and has been a regular guest on the weekly radion show, Dealing With Divorce. Janet brought the national program, Second Saturday, What Every Woman Needs to Know About Divorce, to the YWCA in Pittsburgh. Janet has been featured in The Wall Street Journal and has appeared locally and nationally on TV, where she speaks about the financial pitfalls of divorce. Ms. Bouma also teaches her peers at national conferences on various subjects including QDRO drafting and the practice and pitfalls of divorce financial planning.
Janet has worked in the financial services industry for over 28 ears, and in addition to helping her divorce clients , Janet specializes in Social Security Retirement Planning--helping her clients plan for a financially successful retirement. |
