Scott Levin

Family Law Attorney + Divorce Mediator + CDFA®

Founder, San Diego Divorce Mediation & Family Law

Scott Levin, Esq., CDFA®, is a California family law attorney, divorce mediator, and Certified Divorce Financial Analyst® with more than 20 years of experience helping individuals and couples navigate the legal and financial complexities of divorce.

At San Diego Divorce Mediation & Family Law, Scott combines family law knowledge, financial analysis, and mediation experience to help couples understand their options and make informed decisions about property division, support, retirement assets, real estate, business interests, and other financial issues that arise in divorce.

His approach is built around a simple principle: Clarity First. Then Negotiation. Before asking people to make major financial decisions, Scott works to ensure they understand the assets, debts, income, support considerations, and legal framework involved. His goal is to make complicated financial information understandable so both spouses can participate meaningfully in the settlement process.

Scott works with clients throughout California, including professionals, business owners, couples facing complex asset division, individuals going through gray divorce, LGBTQ+ spouses, and military families. He has served in divorce matters as a neutral mediator, family law attorney, financial analyst, and collaborative divorce professional.

Known professionally as the Chief PeaceKeeper™, Scott focuses on helping couples resolve divorce without unnecessary courtroom conflict. Through mediation, he assists clients in reaching informed agreements involving division of assets, child custody and parenting plans, child support, spousal support, and other financial and family issues. When agreements are reached, Scott prepares the Marital Settlement Agreement and related documents needed to complete the uncontested divorce process.

Scott also teaches community property as an adjunct law professor and has been active in professional organizations involving family law, mediation, collaborative divorce, financial planning, and dispute resolution.

For individuals who need help understanding the financial consequences of divorce, Scott’s combined background as a family law attorney, mediator, and CDFA® provides a practical framework for evaluating options and reaching financially informed settlements.
