Nancy established the Divorce Financial Planner Training Center in 2016 to provide continuing education to CDFA® holders worldwide after building her own six-figure divorce practice, Smarter Divorce Solutions. She launched Smarter Divorce in 2011 after experiencing her own challenging divorce. She worked with hundreds of couples in that business until October 2024 when she decided to shift her focus to teaching. With over 25 years of experience in investment management and financial planning, she still has a small practice with Strategic Portfolio Solutions. Nancy is a Certified Divorce Financial Analyst (CDFA®), an Accredited Wealth Management Advisor (AWMA), an Accredited Asset Management Specialist (AAMS), a Chartered Mutual Fund Counselor (CMFC) and is trained in both mediation and Collaborative Divorce. Nancy is on the IDFA Board of advisors and was the 2024 Chair and was a board member in 2014. Nancy was president of the Collaborative Professionals of Phoenix in 2023 and a board member from 2017-2020. She was also the treasurer for the Arizona Association for Conflict Resolution, the Finance Director for the National Association of Women Business Owners in 2014 and 2015, the 2015 NAWBO Business Owner of the Year, and a 2014 Finalist in the BBB Business Ethics Awards. is the author of Divorce Financial Planning: Building a Successful Niche Business, Divorce Is Not For Dummies, How To Cover Your Assets and she co-authored The Stress-Free Divorce, Volume 2. She has published articles in Huffington Post, DivorcedMoms.com, and was the featured advisor in Morningstar Magazine. In her free time, she enjoys hiking, gardening, and spending time with her husband Tom, their 4 children, and six grandchildren. |
