John Duffy is a Certified Divorce Financial Analyst® professional and a financial planner. His belief in the value of service extends to his personal and professional life, striving to assist others through their personal journeys. Having gone through his own divorce in 2006, John understands the complexities of such transitions. Despite challenges, including co-parenting two young daughters, he emerged from this experience with a deep empathy for those navigating similar paths. This led him to establish Zen Divorce Solutions, aiming to provide guidance and support to individuals facing divorce. John holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and Management from the University of San Francisco. He started his career in the tech industry in Silicon Valley before moving to Santa Barbara in 1999 to pursue a career in finance. He and his wife Star, along with their children, form a close-knit blended family. He worked for UBS as a financial advisor and started his own wealth management firm before finding his calling “Helping couples amicably identify, evaluate, and equitably divide assets in a fair and respectful manner during divorce to achieve a peaceful financial separation.” Outside work, John actively contributes to his community. He serves as Treasurer at Hospice of Santa Barbara and is a former board member of Casa del Herrero and Pacific Pride Foundation. He became a certified ice hockey official and referees games for UCSB and the local adult and youth leagues. Professionally, John is a member of various industry organizations such as the Institute for Divorce Financial Analysts® (IDFA®), Collaborative Practice of California (CPCal), and the International Academy of Collaborative Professionals (IACP). He contributes to these groups through participation in focus groups, speaking engagements, podcasts, and authoring blogs. John's commitment to service and support, combined with his diverse experiences, positions him as a compassionate and knowledgeable guide for those facing the challenges of divorce and financial planning. |
