As the Founder of the Family and Money Matters Institute, Elaine King provides families with planning strategies by helping clients understand, organize and manage their wealth around an actionable strategy.  Her multi-faceted role includes advising on retirement planning, saving for educational needs, estate planning, family meetings and financial competency programs for children & women.


Ms. King has worked and studied in Austria, Canada, Japan, Mexico, Peru and throughout the United States.  Prior to joining LFG, she created and directed the Wealth and Well-Being Institute at Gibraltar Private, a multi-family office platform for high net worth families.  Elaine also worked as an advisor for The Royal Bank of Scotland (US division) $8 billion investment advisory group where she evaluated client portfolios and personalized recommendations to meet client’s objectives.  In a similar role at Citigroup, Ms. King served in a sales management capacity for a $13 billion investment advisory service.


Elaine has an International Business degree from St. Mary’s University and an International Management Masters degree from Thunderbird, The Garvin School of International Management.  She also completed a Graduate Program at the Bowen Center for the Study of the Family in Georgetown.  Elaine is a Florida Supreme Court Certified Family Mediator, a Certified Financial Planner® professional and a Certified Divorce Financial Analyst®.   She is the Chairman for the Miami-Dade Financial Planning Association and serves for the Board of the Family Collaborative Law Institute and is an Ambassador for the CFP Board.


Elaine is the author of the book “Family and Money Matters” published in 2010 by Kaabrah Publishing and "La Familia y El Dinero Hecho Facil" published in 2012 by Penguin Worldwide. She frequently appears in PBS, CBS, Univision and the Joe Madison Show.  She has been quoted by The Wall Street Journal, The Journal of Financial Planning, Time Magazine, Smart Money Magazine, Business Week, Financial Advisor, The Financial Planning Magazine, The Miami Herald, Miami Today, Sun Sentinel, The Real Estate Journal, Hispanic Business, and other national news organizations.  Ms. King also supports CIMA, a shelter for homeless children, in her native Peru.
