Seth Kaplan is a CFP® practitioner and a Certified Divorce Financial Analyst® (CDFA™). He has over 17 years of experience working in the financial industry, with a specialty in divorce financial analyst services.
Seth works with clients (and their attorneys and mediators) through the transition of divorce by providing expertise relating to the financial details, along with thoughtful counsel and perspective regarding possible settlement options. He works with parties’ in an individual or joint financial expert capacity, with experience in mediated, collaborative, and traditional court-related divorces.
Seth is actively involved in various divorce financial specialist practice groups— including the Association of Divorce Financial Planners, CalCPA Family Law Section, the National Association of Certified Valuation Analysts, the Institute for Divorce Financial Analysts™, and the Sacramento Collaborative Divorce Practice Group.
He is the author of several divorce-related articles, including “Negotiating Divorce Settlement Agreements in Uncertain Times” (The Family Law Counselor, 2009); “A ‘Hidden’ Asset in Divorce— Social Security Derivative Benefits” (The Family Law Counselor, 2011); and co-author (with Michelle Smith) of the “The Rate Debate” (American Journal of Family Law, 2007).
