With experience spanning three decades, Candace Bahr is the co-founder and managing partner of Bahr Investment Group in Carlsbad, CA. Candace, and her husband, John Baranowski are independent financial advisors affiliated with LPL Financial Services, the largest independent brokerage firm in the United States. As a Certified Estate Advisor (CEA) and Certified Divorce Financial Analyst (CDFA), Candace is one of the “Top 10 Outstanding Brokers in the United States” according to Registered Rep, a leading industry magazine. Nationally Known Candace leverages her extensive financial knowledge and a degree in economics from the University of Wisconsin to help her clients build and preserve wealth as well as navigate the financial pitfalls of divorce. In addition to her highly regarded financial and investment planning practice, she is a well-recognized advocate for women and their financial independence. In 1988, she co-founded the nonprofit Women’s Institute for Financial Education (www.Wife.org). With more than 55,000 members, Wife.org is the oldest non-profit organization dedicated to empowering women to successfully manage their financial lives. Locally Focused In 1989, Candace created the groundbreaking program, Second Saturday – What Women Need to Know About Divorce along with WIFE.org co-founder Ginita Wall. Run continuously each month in the San Diego area, over 8,000 women (and some men) have found resources and guidance enabling them to better deal with the legal, financial and psychological issues of divorce. The proceeds from the program fee are donated to charity. To date, we’ve given back over $150,000 to the community for scholarships, educational programs and other worthy causes. Sharing Her Insights Candace writes a monthly financial column for Décor & Style magazine as well as a weekly personal finance column on the front page of the business section of the North County Times. Candace is the co-author of the book, It’s More Than Money--It’s Your Life! The New Money Club for Women (John Wiley & Sons, Inc, 2004).
