MICHAEL PHILIPP
CPA, CVA, CDFA


 


Mr. Philipp is a Certified Public Accountant in Colorado and the owner of Valuation Consulting Group, LLC, a Colorado Public Accounting Firm that provides business valuation and litigation support services.  He graduated with a Master of Accountancy degree from the University of Central Arkansas and he received a German MBA equivalent degree in Economics, from the University of Kassel in Germany.  His work experience include practicing in public accounting on the staff of an international CPA firm, working for international companies in information technology and accounting related areas, and currently providing professional services as a Colorado Certified Public Accountant and in real estate appraisal.  Mr. Philipp gained his business valuation experience as an associate of Spillane Valuation Consultants, P. C.


Mr. Philipp specializes in Business Valuations for Estate Planning, Litigation Support, and Small Business Administration (SBA) lending purposes.  He also holds the Certified Valuation Analyst and Certified Divorce Financial Analyst® credentials.


To provide assurance that business valuation service providers are experienced, tested and certified, the National Association of Certified Valuators and Analysts provides the Certified Valuation Analyst (CVA) program for CPAs.  To earn the CVA designation the individual must:



  • Be a licensed CPA.

  • Complete demanding business valuation training that focusses on the rigorous standards of professionalism, expertise, objectivity, and integrity in the field of business valuation.

  • Pass a rigorous written examination and successfully complete a Business Valuation Case Study.


To maintain the CVA credential, the CPA must meet re-accreditation requirements every three years including evidence of valuation experience and completion of related Continuing Professional Education courses in the discipline. 


The Institute for Divorce Financial Analysts provides the Certified Divorce Financial Analyst (CDFA) credential to candidates that completed specialized training focusing on financial and tax aspects of marital dissolution, pass proctored examinations, and complete successfully a case study.  To maintain the CDFA credential, the credential holder must meet re-accreditation requirements every two years including evidence of experience and completion of related Continuing Professional Education courses in the discipline.
