Jennifer was born in Connecticut, but considers her hometown Downingtown PA, a busy suburb of Philadelphia.  After graduating from Indiana University of Pennsylvania with a degree in Business, Jennifer moved to Richmond, VA in 1992.  A lifelong animal lover, she provides a caring home to a Golden Retriever named Journey, a shorthaired cat named Zoe, and two horses: Waffle and Mallow.   Jennifer resides in Manakin Sabot with her husband, Peter, & 2 college-aged stepsons, Ben & Matt.

Over the past 30 years Jennifer has held a variety of roles at financial services firms both large and small. Following family into banking, she served as a Trust Officer for a regional institution.  Later she was recruited by a mentor to a boutique money-management firm and joined a portfolio management team specializing in municipal bonds.  Wanting a more comprehensive view of personal finance than just investments, Jennifer went to work for a financial planning software firm before teaming with Peter Walls in 2005.  Serving as the Director of Wealth Management in her Practice, she is especially insightful as to the financial needs of affluent divorcees and widows.

Jennifer finds great fulfillment in empowering women to better understand their finances to enable them to move on with their lives. As a result of her dedication in this area, Jennifer was nominated (by clients & fellow professionals) and ended up winning the 2023 RVA Power Woman Award in Finance!

Jennifer is a passionate equestrian and member of Deep Run Hunt Club in Goochland County where she enjoys trail rides with friends with her horse Mallow. She is the proud owner of a Palomino named Waffle and enjoys showing him in Eventing competitions from Maryland to South Carolina.

Jennifer is an active member of the Financial Planning Association of Central Virginia & IMPACT 100 (a women's philanthropy group that makes grants to local non-profits). Additionally, she serves on the Board of the Kinloch Home Owner's Association.
