Steve is a 1980 graduate of Southwestern University in Georgetown, Texas, with a B.S. in Chemistry and a B.A. in Biology. He attended The University of Texas Health Science Center - San Antonio Dental School from August 1980 to October 1983. He earned an M.B.A. in Finance in July 1986 from the University of St. Thomas in Houston, Texas.

In addition to being a Certified Divorce Financial Analyst® (CDFA®), Steve is an Accredited Investment Fiduciary® (AIF®).  He has also earned the Accredited Domestic Partnership AdvisorSM (ADPA®) and the Chartered Retirement Planning CounselorSM (CRPC®) designations through the College for Financial Planning.  In fact, Steve is one of only two Financial Advisors in the State of Texas to hold both the CDFA® (marital divorces) and ADPA® (domesitc partnership dissolutions) designations!

Steve has received both Basic and Family Mediation training from the Fort Bend Dispute Resolution Center as well as specialized mediation training in the area of Property Division at the A. A. White Dispute Resolution Center at The University of Houston Law Center.  He is also trained to function as the neutral Financial Professional in Collaborative Divorce by the Collaborative Law Institute of Texas.

Steve has worked for major specialty and petrochemical companies since graduate school and founded his own specialty chemicals business development consultancy in 1992.  Having grown a privately held, family-owned business and having gone through the divorce process first-hand, he brings to bear insights and solutions for high-net-worth individuals, their families and businesses facing the financial challenges brought on by divorce.
