Leigh Bivings, Ph.D., CFP®, is the founder of Artemis Financial Advisors and is a Certified Divorce Financial Analyst® (CDFA®), trained specifically in the financial issues of divorce. She brings an interdisciplinary approach to the challenges of divorce with her knowledge of investments, financial planning, and Massachusetts divorce laws.

Pre-Settlement

  • Identify and explain the financial data needed to make fully informed and intelligent decisions.
  • Help complete financial affidavits accurately.
  • Analyze the short- and long-term financial implications of a divorce settlement.
  • Document marital standard of living.
  • Support clients and their attorneys in the creation of budgets that demonstrate the right level of support.
  • Offer insight into the advantages and disadvantages of different settlement proposals.

Prior to founding Artemis, Leigh was a managing director at Stax, Inc., an investment research firm, and a partner at the Monitor Group, a global strategy advisory firm. Her international experience spans Latin America where she was a Peace Corps volunteer and conducted her doctoral work. She has also worked in Canada, South America, and Europe.

Leigh has a Ph.D. in applied economics from Stanford University, an M.A. in International Trade and Finance from the University of Sussex, and an A.B. in International Relations from Pomona College. She has received a variety of awards, most notably the AAEA National Prize for Most Outstanding Doctoral Dissertation in 1993.

Leigh is very active in the community and currently serves on the finance committee of the YWCA Boston. She is a member of the Boston Economic Club and the National Association of Personal Financial Advisors.
