TW (Terry) Hawes, MBA, CGA, CFE. Terry is a 'Certified General Accountant' located in Port Moody, BC --- primarily serving clients in the Tri-Cities communities of Port Moody, Port Coquitlam and Coquitlam in addition to a number of clients located throughout Western Canada and other locations. From accounting/financial statement compilations and reviews to tax preparation/planning/strategies/appeals and contract CFO/Controller services, you will find that we go above and beyond the traditional role of the accountant. In addition to his education and training as an Accountant, he has obtained extensive first-hand business experience working in industry as Controller and Chief Financial Officer.

Terry obtained his Certified General Accountant (CGA) designation in 1991 and is a member in good standing of the Certified General Accountants Association of British Columbia and the Certified General Accountants Association of Canada. After a number of years working in industry, he returned to Simon Fraser University in 1997 to study business administration and earned a Masters Degree in Business Administration (MBA). Terry also holds a Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE ) designation, Certified Divorce Financial Analyst (CDFA) designation and is a member of the Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA).

During his career, Terry has developed extensive experience and knowledge in accounting/taxation, business consulting, strategy, Management Information Systems, numerous software programs and operating systems, business structures including; partnerships, proprietorships, corporations, and Not-For Profit Organizations (Strata, Charities, Preschools etc). Terry has instructed accounting and finance courses at the British Columbia Institute of Technology (BCIT) and MBA students at the University of Phoenix (Vancouver Campus). He has also testified in court regarding criminal issues including theft/fraud and other sections of the Criminal Code of Canada and a number of civil litigation matters.

Terry is committed to the community and is currently serving as a Board member with S.H.A.R.E. Family Community Services, Board member with the Port Moody Foundation and a member of the Finance Committee of the Eagle Ridge Hospital Foundation. Previously, Terry has served the community with Big Brothers of Greater Vancouver (Big Brother for 14+ years), Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP - Auxiliary Constable), and the Canadian Amateur Hockey Association (Referee in Chief – Burnaby Minor Hockey). Recently, he completed a two year term (2005-2007) as Treasurer for Tri-Cities Chamber of Commerce and is the current Treasurer with POCOMO Youth Services Society which assists troubled youth in the Tri-Cities community.
