Sharon Count, Certified Divorce Financial Analyst® and Certified Mediator

Sharon’s goal is to help couples navigate the financial and emotional hurdles of divorce by formulating ideas that can eventually lead to agreements that will stand the test of time. She has worked many years with divorcing couples, preparing financial affidavits and guiding them in managing budgetary needs, family goal priorities, liabilities management, income preservation and retirement income planning after divorce. She educates and empowers both men and women about the divorce process with compassion and empathy during this raw emotional time.  Sharon helps each person navigate the gray space of the unknown future by guiding them in answering their questions, such as "Will I be okay after divorce?”

In addition, Sharon was a client of the Cook County court system for over 10 years in her own extensive divorce proceedings, including two trials in the circuit court and an appellate court appeal. Ultimately, mediation was the solution.

Sharon Count received her Certified Divorce Financial Analyst® designation from the Institute for Divorce Financial Analysts™.  She received her Divorce Mediation Certification from Northwestern University’s School of Professional Studies, taught by Margaret Powers and Ericka Gray. She is a member of the Chicago Chapter of the Association for Conflict Resolution. Sharon is a Registered Financial Advisor with Series 7 & 66 FINRA licenses, and Life, Health, Annuity and Long Term Care Insurance Licenses.

Sharon's office in Northfield, Illinois, allows her to help in both Cook County and Lake County divorces.  She also mediates in DuPage County, Iowa, and Indiana.

Sharon and her husband, Kevin, reside in Glenview, Illinois, have two sons and two daughters, and enjoy the Chicago Botanic Gardens.
