I am Emily Nilsson, CFP, JD, CDFA® and my preferred name is Kelly. I founded my firm, Brava Financial, LLC, after thirty years in the financial services industry. I am a seasoned financial professional and a warm, loving, respectful guide who empowers and educates myself and others to become our best selves. Working as a financial planner and mentor, I support people who want a positive and prosperous relationship with money by integrating finance with their highest values and aspirations.


In my experience, nobody makes good decisions from a place of pain. When I counsel clients who are considering, in the process of or recovering from divorce, my goal is to facilitate good decision-making on consequential financial decisions while also making space for emotions and trauma.


Since beginning my journey in finance in 1992, I have worked with thousands of professionals and clients. Working with companies large and small and people from all walks of life, I have amassed deep expertise and empathy available to anyone who wants to create better outcomes and a healthier relationship with money.


I am a proud graduate of Mount Holyoke College where I received a Bachelor of Arts in International Relations. In 2018, I was awarded a Juris Doctor from St. Francis School of Law. I have held the Certified Financial Planner designation since 2003.
