Who is W. Earl Webster, the Utah Divorce Advocate? I founded Utah Divorce Advocate with the intent of creating a law practice that provides a unique service that actually helps and benefits clients. I chose to base my firm on the Certified Divorce Financial Analyst® because CDFA® services meld all of my prior work experience into a tool for helping people. Moreover, I have nightmares of clients who made poor financial choices during their divorce, either self-prepared or with other counsel, and then later asked me to help repair the damage. Usually, all I could tell them is the damage was irreparable. I have a goal to prevent such errors from ever happening in the future. I bring an eclectic mix of experience to bear when serving clients. I am both a certified public accountant and an attorney. I have audited income taxes, managed trust funds, and regulated various licensed professions and occupations. As a CPA I have over 20 years of experience assisting clients with tax planning to minimize liability in both income taxes and estate planning. Prior to founding this firm, I worked for a small, 3-professional firm where I handled family law cases as needed and I performed all research into complex family law questions. My education includes a Master of Accountancy—Financial Accounting and Auditing from the Marriott School of Management at Brigham Young University and a Juris Doctor from the S.J. Quinney College of Law at the University of Utah. When not helping people with divorce finances, I can be found operating Living Solutions for Seniors, an elder living placement service. During my free time I enjoy reading (my tastes range from St. Augustine to Tolkien to Douglas Adams), cooking (mostly Mexican), and xeric gardening. |
